SITA acquires leading biometric specialists

SITA has acquired biometric systems integrator BioWise, one of Europe's leading players in the rapidly growing biometric systems market. The company's expertise, coupled with SITA's current iBorders/iDetect products, bolsters SITA's ability to address many of the complex security requirements of government agencies, airlines and airport operators.

SITA has previously partnered with the Brussels-based company on a number of projects.

This included deployment of the first biometric kiosks for the European-sponsored s-Travel (secure Travel) initiative, and the first US-based Registered Traveler Pilot Programme.
